Not all LinkedIn signals are created equal.
A profile view from a VP at your dream account? That's hot. A post like from someone's personal account? Maybe warm. A connection request from a perfect-fit prospect? That's move-everything-else-aside territory.
But here's the thing: What matters most depends on your sales process.
If you're selling to enterprises with 12-month sales cycles, multiple profile views over time might be your strongest buying signal. If you're in a high-velocity SMB motion, immediate post engagement might matter more than anything else.
Until now, Teamfluence used a fixed scoring system. We assigned points to each type of engagement based on what we thought mattered.
It worked well for most teams. But not perfectly for every team.

What's New: Customizable Lead Scoring Weights
You can now customize the point value (weight) for every type of LinkedIn engagement signal that Teamfluence tracks.
Profile views, post comments, connection requests, company page follows—you decide what each one is worth to your team.

Here's what you can customize:
Personal Profile Signals:
Profile viewers (someone checked out your LinkedIn)
Profile followers (someone followed your profile)
New connections (from your campaigns or organic)
Post reactions (likes on your content)
Post comments (comments on your posts)
Post shares (reposts of your content)
Company Page Signals:
Company page followers
Company page post engagement
Company page profile views (if you have Premium)
Tracked Content Signals:
Reactions to posts you're tracking (competitor content, industry thought leaders, etc.)
Comments on tracked posts
Each signal can be weighted from 0 to 20 points. The total engagement score determines how hot a lead is and where they appear in your queue.
Why We Built This
Over the past year, we've had dozens of conversations with customers about lead scoring.
The pattern was clear:
"I love seeing all the signals, but profile views matter way more to us than post likes."
"Our best deals come from people who comment, not just react. Can we weight comments higher?"
"We're tracking competitor posts—those signals should count for more because they show solution awareness."
You were right. One-size-fits-all scoring doesn't fit every sales motion.
So we made it flexible.
This feature came directly from your feedback. We analyzed how top-performing teams manually prioritized signals, talked to sales leaders about what mattered most to their process, and built a system that adapts to how you actually work.
Because at the end of the day, you know your buyers better than we do.
How It Works
Customizing your lead scoring takes about 3 minutes.
Step 1: Go to Settings → Monitoring
Log into Teamfluence and navigate to Settings. Under the Monitoring section, you'll see Lead Scoring Weights.
Step 2: Assign Point Values
You'll see every signal type that Teamfluence tracks. Assign each one a weight between 0 and 20 points.
Some guidelines:
High-intent signals (connection requests, comments, multiple touches): 15-20 points
Medium-intent signals (profile views, post reactions): 10-15 points
Low-intent signals (single company page follow): 5-10 points
Ignore signals (not relevant to your process): 0 points
You don't have to use increments of 5—be as precise as you want. A profile view could be worth 12 points if that's what makes sense for your team.
Step 3: Click Save Changes
That's it. Your new scoring system is live immediately.
All existing leads will be re-scored based on your new weights, and all future signals will use your custom scoring.
Step 4: Review and Refine
Over the next week, keep an eye on your lead scores. Do the highest-scoring leads match your intuition? Are you spotting the right hot prospects?
If something feels off, go back and adjust. This isn't set in stone—refine it as you learn.
Use Cases: How Teams Are Using Custom Scoring
Enterprise Sales Team "We have long sales cycles. Repeated profile views over 30+ days is our #1 signal someone's researching us. We set profile views to 18 points and everything else lower. Now our hottest leads are the ones showing sustained interest."
SMB Sales Team "Our buyers move fast. Post comments and connection requests mean someone's ready to talk NOW. We cranked those to 20 points each. Profile views? Just 5 points. They're nice to know but don't drive our outreach."
Social Selling Team "We track competitor content heavily. When someone engages with a competitor's post, they're solution-aware and in-market. We set tracked post engagement to 20 points—higher than our own content engagement. Game changer."
Account-Based Team "We uploaded 500 target accounts. Any signal from those accounts matters more. We set baseline weights lower (5-10) but boost them manually for target account contacts. Keeps our focus where it belongs."
What This Means for You

No more scrolling past "high-scoring" leads that don't fit how you sell. Your lead queue now reflects what matters to your team.

Running a new campaign? Tracking new content? Testing a new outreach strategy? Adjust your weights to match. Your lead scoring evolves with you.
4. Different teams, different weights
If you manage multiple teams with different motions (SDRs vs. AEs, enterprise vs. SMB), you can set up different scoring in different workspaces.
Best Practices
Based on early testing and customer feedback, here's what works:
✅ Start with your top signal Identify the ONE signal that best predicts a conversation. Set that to 18-20 points. Work backwards from there.
✅ Don't over-complicate it You don't need to agonize over whether something is 12 or 13 points. Get close, save it, and refine as you go.
✅ Align with your team If you have multiple people using Teamfluence, discuss what matters most. Consistent scoring = consistent prioritization.
✅ Review monthly Set a calendar reminder to review your scoring once a month. As your strategy evolves, your weights should too.
❌ Don't set everything to 20 If every signal is worth 20 points, nothing is a priority. Reserve top scores for top signals.

P.S. If you're not sure where to start, here's a simple framework: Connection requests and comments = 18-20 points. Profile views and post reactions = 10-12 points. Everything else = 5-8 points. Adjust from there based on what you're seeing.
